Fears for more tsunamis after hundreds killed in Indonesia (CNN) Latest Breaking News Today
In the coming days, the more ferocious tsunami may hit the Indonesian coast, authorities warn that the devastating waves of the weekend are due to the flow of the volcano.
At least 281 people have died since the tsunami, which hit the Indonesian coast on Saturday night without warning. Hundreds have been injured and more than two dozen people are missing.
Witnesses said that after fleeing for their lives, they entered the beach in waves, which were caused by an underground earthquake after the volcanic eruption of Anak Crakato.
The spokeswoman for Indonesia's National Disaster Response Agency, Sutopo Para Nigro, also warned on Sunday that the tsunami will be possible as long as the volcano remains active.
"We are warning people to be careful," said Sutopo. "The agencies are still analyzing the root cause ... the outbreak of the crakatu volcano is happening, which could possibly trigger another tsunami."
A crowd of Indonesian pop bands watched a show presented by seventeen PLN state power companies when Tanzung Lehun Beach Resort released a large wave generation in the crowd.
The lazy player and the band's manager are killed, said lead singer Rafiyan Fajasah in an indecent publication in the Instagram post. Three members of Seventeen's wife and Fajrosaha, whose birthday is Sunday, are still absent.
843 people were injured and 28 were involved in illegal activities.
Without the doctor's borders, Daniel Von Raz, head of the mission in Indonesia, said that more bodies and injured people are expected to arrive in hospitals in the region in the coming years.
At least 558 houses have been destroyed, nine hotels, 60 restaurants and 350 boats have suffered serious damage, an indication of the impact of the tsunami on residential and tourist areas.
